Latin-rite diocese in the Wanzhou district of Chongqing, China, erected in 1929 as the Apostolic Vicariate of Wanhsien from the Apostolic Vicariate of Chongqing and elevated to diocese in 1946. A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Chongqing, its seat is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Wanzhou; Bishop Paul He Zeqing has led the diocese since 2008.

History
Seated in Wanzhou District (formerly Wanxian) in Chongqing, the Diocese of Wanxian (Latin: Dioecesis Uanscienensis; Chinese: 天主教萬縣教區; formerly spelled Wanhsien), also called the Diocese of Wanzhou, belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Chongqing in the easternmost part of western China. Its origins date to August 2, 1929, when it was erected as the Apostolic Vicariate of Wanhsien for the Mission of Sichuan (Szechwan).
