Latin Church diocese seated at Barrancabermeja in Santander, Colombia, suffragan of the Archdiocese of Bucaramanga. Established on April 2, 1928 as the Territorial Prelature of Rio Magdalena from the Dioceses of Nueva Pamplona and Socorro y San Gil, promoted to apostolic vicariate in 1950 and to diocese on October 27, 1962. Its cathedral is the Catedral del Sagrado Corazon; Bishop Ovidio Giraldo Velasquez has served since May 29, 2020.

A Latin suffragan diocese in Colombia's ecclesiastical province of Bucaramanga, Barrancabermeja (Latin: Barrancabermeiensis) has its cathedral episcopal see at the Catedral del Sagrado Corazón, dedicated to the Sacred Heart, in the city of Barrancabermeja in Santander State.
