Latin-rite metropolitan archdiocese seated at Ibague in the Tolima department of Colombia. It was erected as the Diocese of Ibague on 20 May 1900 from the Diocese of Tolima and elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 14 December 1974. Its seat is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Ibague.

    Archdiocese of Ibagué to hold collection for needy parishes The Archdiocese of Ibagué will hold its annual collection for needy parishes on Sunday, September 27. Archbishop Orlando Roa Barbosa called on Catholics in the archdiocese to support the collection to strengthen pastoral work and assist parishes that lack economic stability. This year, the funds will specifically support parish communities whose churches were damaged by an earthquake on August 10. The collection aims to help restore buildings that serve as centers for evangelization and community identity. Affected structures include the Metropolitan Cathedral, Nuestra Señora del Carmen, and Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá in Ibagué, as well as Nuestra Señora del Carmen in Roncesvalles and Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro in Anzoátegui. The earthquake also caused damage to rectories and diocesan institutions, including the Colegio Tolimense and the archdiocesan curia. The collection is held annually on the last Sunday of September to provide priests with the necessary means to serve their communities.
