The Archdiocese of Detroit is the metropolitan see for the State of Michigan, erected as a diocese in 1833 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1937. Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger was installed in February 2025.

History
Erected in 1833 and raised to archiepiscopal rank in 1937, the Archdiocese of Detroit (Latin: Archidiœcesis Detroitensis) covers the south-east portion of Michigan in the United States and serves as the metropolitan see of the Ecclesiastical Province of Detroit, which takes in every diocese in the state. The Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament is its mother church, and the Basilica of Sainte Anne de Détroit, dating to 1701, is the second oldest continuously operating Catholic parish in the United States.
