Latin rite diocese in the Cibao region of the Dominican Republic, erected in 1953 and a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Santiago de los Caballeros. Its seat is the Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepcion in La Vega, inaugurated in 1992. The see became vacant in November 2025 when Bishop Carlos Tomas Morel Diplan was named Coadjutor Archbishop of Santo Domingo; Bishop Jose Amable Duran Tineo serves as apostolic administrator.
