Latin rite diocese in the southwestern Dominican Republic, erected on 25 September 1953 as the Territorial Prelature of San Juan de la Maguana and elevated to a diocese on 19 November 1969. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo with its seat at the Catedral San Juan Bautista. Bishop Tomas Alejo Concepcion has led the diocese since his appointment on 7 November 2020.
