History

Fiji's Latin Catholic metropolitan archdiocese is the Archdiocese of Suva (Latin: Archidioecesis Suvana), created in 1966 as successor to the Apostolic Vicariate of Fiji. Its responsibility extends to the suffragan dioceses of Rarotonga and Tarawa and Nauru, and, since 21 March 2003, to the Mission Sui Iuris of Funafuti.
