It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Bordeaux. Its seat is the Cathedral of Sainte-Marie in Bayonne.

A suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Bordeaux, the Diocese of Bayonne, Lescar, and Oloron (Latin: Dioecesis Baionensis, Lascurrensis et Oloronensis; French: Diocèse de Bayonne, Lescar et Oloron; Basque: Baionako, Leskarreko eta Oloroeko elizbarrutia) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in France, commonly referred to simply as the Diocese of Bayonne.
