The Archdiocese of Dijon is a Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese covering the Cote-d'Or department in Burgundy, France; erected as a diocese on 9 April 1731, it was elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 8 December 2002. Its province includes the dioceses of Autun, Nevers and Saint-Claude. Its seat is the Cathedral of St. Benignus in Dijon.

History

Established in 1731 as the Diocese of Dijon and then suffragan to the Archdiocese of Lyon, the see was raised to the rank of archdiocese in 2002. The Archdiocese of Dijon (Latin: Archidioecesis Divionensis; French: Archidiocèse de Dijon) is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church in France whose territory covers the entire department of Côte-d'Or, in the Region of Bourgogne. The archepiscopal see is Dijon Cathedral, in the city of Dijon.
