The Diocese of Limoges is a Latin rite diocese covering the Haute-Vienne and Creuse departments in central France, an ancient see traditionally founded by St. Martial. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Poitiers. Its seat is the Cathedral of St. Stephen in Limoges. Bishop Benoit Aubert was appointed by Pope Leo XIV on 8 April 2026.

Pope Leo XIV arrives at Lourdes Shrine
Pope Leo XIV arrived at the Lourdes shrine on the evening of Saturday, September 26, 2026. Following his visit to Paris, the pope traveled to the Marian shrine to conduct a pilgrimage. Pilgrims can see the pope from the popemobile as he greets the faithful several times before Sunday Mass at the Prairie. Fr. James Phelan, the coordinating chaplain for English-speaking pilgrims, described the site as a special home of Mary where the pope will pray for the world.

Diocese of Limoges to host screening of 'Délivre-nous du mal'
The Diocese of Limoges will partner with a premiere screening of the documentary Délivre-nous du mal on Tuesday, September 29. The event takes place at 20h at the Cinéma Grand Écran Ester in Limoges. Following the projection, two members of the diocesan exorcism service will participate in an exchange to address a reality that is often misunderstood.
