Suffragan of the Archdiocese of Veszprem, with its seat at the Cathedral of the Visitation of Our Lady in Szombathely. Its patron is St. Martin of Tours, born in ancient Savaria (Szombathely).

History
Within the Hungarian ecclesiastical province of the Metropolitan Veszprém, the Diocese of Szombathely (Latin: Dioecesis Sabariensis) is a Latin suffragan see. Its episcopal cathedral, Szombathely Cathedral (Hungarian: Sarlósboldogasszony székesegyházi), stands in the city of Szombathely and is dedicated to the Visitation of Our Lady.
