History
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Idah (Latin: Idahin(us)) is a Latin suffragan see in the ecclesiastical province of Abuja, Nigeria, though it remains under the Roman missionary Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. Its seat, the city of Idah, sits along the Niger river in Kogi State. The faithful it serves are chiefly of the Igala, Bassa and Igbo peoples, whose homes lie in Kogi east along the Niger and Benue rivers, below their confluence, in the country around Lokoja.
