The Chaldean Catholic Patriarchate of Baghdad is the patriarchal see of the Chaldean Catholic Church (East Syriac rite), formally erected in 1553 and seated in Baghdad since 1947 after earlier seats in Diyarbakir and Mosul. Its patriarchal cathedral is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Sorrows in Baghdad. In April 2026 the Chaldean Synod elected Archbishop Amel Shamon Nona, who took the name Paul III, succeeding Cardinal Louis Raphael I Sako.

History
The Chaldean Catholic Patriarchate of Baghdad, known simply as the Chaldean Patriarchate (Latin: Patriarchatus Chaldæorum), is the official title carried by the primate of the Chaldean Catholic Church. The patriarchate has its home at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Sorrows in Baghdad, Iraq. The see is presently held by Mar Paul III Nona, who is assisted by Shlemon Warduni, archbishop of Erbil, and Basel Yaldo, Auxiliary Bishop of Baghdad. Chaldean Catholics make up the majority of Iraq's Assyrians, an indigenous people of Upper Mesopotamia.
