The Apostolic Prefecture of Kompong Cham (Kampong Cham) is a Latin-rite missionary jurisdiction in eastern Cambodia, erected on 26 September 1968 when the Apostolic Vicariate of Phnom Penh was divided into three. Pierre Suon Hangly, the first Cambodian apostolic prefect (2022), was appointed Coadjutor Vicar Apostolic of Phnom Penh on 28 June 2025, leaving the prefecture vacant under his care as apostolic administrator.

History
Eastern Cambodia is served by the Apostolic Prefecture of Kampong Cham, a territorial subdivision of the Roman Catholic Church. Its territory of 66,347 km2 spans the provinces of Kampong Cham, Kratié, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, Svay Rieng, Tboung Khmum and Prey Veng. As of 2002, of 4.2 million citizens, 3,460 belonged to the Catholic Church. The prefecture is organized into 24 parishes and counts 13 priests altogether.
