History
Serving the Chin State and the Sagaing Division in northwestern Myanmar, the Diocese of Hakha (Latin: Dioecesis Hakhanensis, Burmese: ဟားခါးကက်သလစ်ခရစ်ယာန်ဂိုဏ်းအုပ်ပိုင်သောနယ်) is a Latin Catholic diocese in Burma and a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Mandalay. It was erected on November 21, 1992 from territory taken out of the archdiocese of Mandalay. Its area of 27,516 km² is divided into 31 parishes. Of the 485,247 people living there, 31,624 belong to the Catholic Church, while 76% of the population belong to the Protestant church.
