The Archdiocese of Monrovia is the Latin Church metropolitan see of Liberia, established as the Prefecture Apostolic of Liberia in 1903 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1981. Archbishop Gabriel Blamo Snosio Jubwe was appointed in February 2024.

History

Liberia's Catholic Church is led from the Archdiocese of Monrovia (Archidioecesis Monroviensis), a Latin Church territory raised to an archdiocese in December 1981. Its origins lie in the Prefecture Apostolic of Liberia, established in 1903 when it was separated from the Apostolic Vicariate of Sierra Leone (today the Archdiocese of Freetown and Bo).
