The Diocese of Kenema is a Latin Rite diocese covering the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone, erected in 1970 from the Diocese of Freetown and Bo. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Freetown, and its bishop since 2019 is Henry Aruna.

History

Established on 11 November 1970 from territory separated from the diocese of Freetown and Bo, the Diocese of Kenema (Latin: Kenemaën(sis)) is a Latin Catholic see in Sierra Leone's ecclesiastical province of Freetown. Its territory runs from the border of Bo District in the west to the Republic of Liberia in the southeast, with Tonkolili District and Kono District to the north and Guinea to the east. St. Paul's Cathedral in Kenema serves as the cathedral parish.
