Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese in northern Mexico, erected as the Diocese of Chihuahua on 23 June 1891 and elevated to an archdiocese on 22 November 1958. Its seat is the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Our Lady of Regla and St. Francis of Assisi in the city of Chihuahua. Its suffragans are Ciudad Juarez, Cuauhtemoc-Madera, Nuevo Casas Grandes, Parral and Tarahumara.
