History

Erected on July 6, 1963, the Eparchy of Passaic (Latin: Eparchia Passaicensis Ruthenorum) serves the Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church along the Atlantic seaboard of the United States. As an Eastern Catholic church it celebrates its services in the Byzantine Rite. The episcopal seat is the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel in Passaic, New Jersey, and the eparchy is a suffragan of the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh in the ecclesiastical province of Pittsburgh.
