The Diocese of Huaraz in the Ancash region of Peru was erected in 1899. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Trujillo and has been led by Bishop José Antonio Alarcón Gómez, a Capuchin Franciscan, since 2024.

History
Erected in 1899, the Diocese of Huaraz is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in Peru, suffragan to the Archdiocese of Trujillo. José Antonio Alarcón Gómez, O.F.M.Conv., appointed in September 2024, is its current bishop.
