The Diocese of Huarí in the Ancash region of Peru was established as a territorial prelature in 1958 and elevated to a diocese in 2008. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Trujillo. The see has been vacant since the death of Bishop Ivo Baldi Gaburri in June 2021, with auxiliary bishop Giorgio Barbetta serving the diocese.

History

First established as a Territorial Prelature in 1958, the see of Huarí was elevated to a full diocese in April 2008. The Diocese of Huarí (Latin: Dioecesis Huariensis) is a Latin Church territory of the Catholic Church in Peru and a suffragan within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Trujillo.
