The Archdiocese of Madang is a Latin rite metropolitan see on the north coast of Papua New Guinea, with the Dioceses of Aitape, Lae, Vanimo and Wewak as suffragans. Tracing its origins to a missionary jurisdiction erected in 1896, it was elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese in 1966. Its seat is Holy Spirit Cathedral in Madang.

History
A Latin Catholic metropolitan see in Papua New Guinea, the Archdiocese of Madang oversees the suffragan dioceses of Aitape, Lae, Vanimo and Wewak. It was created in 1966 by elevation from a predecessor see. Anton Bal, formerly Bishop of Kundiawa, Papua New Guinea, was appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Madang by Pope Francis on 26 July 2019, succeeding Archbishop Stephen Joseph Reichert, OFMCap, whose resignation was accepted after he reached the age limit.
