History

On 25 March 1992 the Diocese of Bielsko-Żywiec (Latin: Dioecesis Bielscensis-Zyviecensis) was formed from the Diocese of Katowice and the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kraków. A Latin diocese located in the cities of Bielsko and Żywiec, it belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Kraków in Poland. In 2013 roughly half of the Catholic Church members then counted attended church services at least once per week.
