Latin-rite metropolitan archdiocese in central Poland, erected as the Diocese of Lodz on 10 December 1920 and elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 25 March 1992, with the Diocese of Lowicz as suffragan. Its mother church is the Cathedral Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Lodz. Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, the former papal almoner, was appointed archbishop on 12 March 2026, succeeding Cardinal Grzegorz Rys.

History
Covering the central area of Łódź Voivodeship, the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Łódź (Latin: Archidioecesis Metropolitae Lodziensis) is a Latin Church archdiocese seated in the Polish city of Łódź. In 2016, weekly Mass attendance stood at 23.4% of its Catholic population, which made it the second least devout diocese in Poland, ahead only of the Archdiocese of Szczecin-Kamień at 22.7%.
