Pompei is a Latin Rite territorial prelature in Campania, Italy, centered on the Marian shrine founded by Blessed Bartolo Longo and given its current prelature status in 1951. It is immediately subject to the Holy See and led by Archbishop-Prelate Tommaso Caputo, who serves as Pontifical Delegate.

History
Commissioned and co-founded by Bartolo Longo and his wife the Countess Mariana di Fusco, the Pontifical Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompei (Italian: Pontificio Santuario della Beata Vergine del Santo Rosario di Pompei) stands in Pompei, Italy, as at once a Catholic cathedral, a Marian pontifical shrine, and a Pontifical minor basilica. It serves as the see of the Territorial Prelature of Pompei.
