It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Belgrade, with its seat at the Cathedral of St. Teresa of Avila in Subotica, serving a largely Hungarian and Croat faithful.

History
The Serbian portion of the Bačka region belongs to the Diocese of Subotica (Latin: Dioecesis Suboticanus; Hungarian: Szabadkai Egyházmegye; Croatian: Subotička biskupija; Serbian: Суботичка бискупија), a Latin diocese in Serbia and a suffragan within the province of the Archdiocese of Belgrade. Its episcopal see is the Cathedral of St. Teresa of Avila in Subotica.
