The Roman Catholic Diocese of Timisoara is a Latin Church diocese covering the Romanian Banat, established in 1930 by Pope Pius XI and suffragan to the Archdiocese of Bucharest. Its cathedral is dedicated to Saint George, and József-Csaba Pál has been bishop since 2018.

History
Pope Pius XI established the Diocese of Timișoara (Latin: Dioecesis Timisoarensis; Hungarian: Temesvári Római Katolikus Püspökség), a Latin diocese in Romania, on 5 June 1930. Roughly the same region had been served by the Diocese of Cenad (Csanád), created in 1030 by Stephen I of Hungary; when that see was divided in 1930, the Hungarian portion (now the Diocese of Szeged-Csanád) kept the old name, even though Cenad itself lies within the Diocese of Timișoara.
