History
In the Western United States, the Chaldean Catholic Church maintains the Chaldean Eparchy of Saint Peter the Apostle (Latin: Eparchia Sancti Petri Apostoli urbis Sancti Didaci Chaldaeorum). Its worship follows the Syro-Oriental Rite in the Syriac/Arameic language. The eparchy is exempt, meaning it answers immediately to the Holy See and belongs to no ecclesiastical province. Its episcopal see is St. Peter Chaldean Catholic Cathedral in El Cajon, California.
