Spoleto-Norcia is in fact a Latin-rite archdiocese in Umbria, central Italy, immediately subject to the Holy See (non-metropolitan), elevated to archdiocese in 1821 and given its current name in 1986 after absorbing the suppressed Diocese of Norcia. Its current archbishop is Renato Boccardo, appointed 16 July 2009.

History
Historically the Diocese of Spoleto, this Italian see (Latin: Archidioecesis Spoletana-Nursina) has carried archdiocesan rank since 1821. A Latin Church territory, it is non-metropolitan and immediately exempt to the Holy See.
