Spoleto-Norcia is in fact a Latin-rite archdiocese in Umbria, central Italy, immediately subject to the Holy See (non-metropolitan), elevated to archdiocese in 1821 and given its current name in 1986 after absorbing the suppressed Diocese of Norcia. Its current archbishop is Renato Boccardo, appointed 16 July 2009.
