Its seat is Assumption Cathedral in Bangkok and it heads one of Thailand's two ecclesiastical provinces.

History
Thailand's capital gives its name to the Archdiocese of Bangkok (Latin: Archidiœcesis Bangkokensis, Thai: อัครสังฆมณฑลกรุงเทพฯ), a Latin Catholic archdiocese whose bishop's seat is the Assumption Cathedral, Bangkok.
