Latin Church diocese covering 196,300 km2 of eastern Ukraine, erected 4 May 2002 from territory of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Kyiv-Zhytomyr. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Lviv; the seat is the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kharkiv, with a co-cathedral in Zaporizhzhia.

The diocesan seat is the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kharkiv, with the Co-Cathedral of the Merciful Father in Zaporizhzhia serving alongside it.

Professor Francesca Romana Stasolla presented the first volume of a book regarding archaeological excavations at the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on September 17 at La Sapienza University in Rome. Stasolla, a professor of Christian and medieval history who leads the research, told Vatican News that the project works in close cooperation with local communities to reconstruct a shared history.
