The Archdiocese of Udine is a metropolitan Latin Church see in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy, formed in 1752 from the division of the Patriarchate of Aquileia and restored to archdiocese rank in 1846. Its current archbishop is Riccardo Lamba, appointed in 2024.

History

In 1752, when the Patriarchal see of Aquileia was divided, the see of Udine came into being. Today the Archdiocese of Udine (Latin: Archidioecesis Utinensis) is a Latin Church territory of the Catholic Church in Italy. Between 1818 and 1846 it stood as a suffragan diocese of the Patriarch of Venice.

These sessions provide opportunities for couples to meet and discuss various aspects of married life through reflections based on the Gospel. The courses will begin in Tolmezzo, followed by sessions in Udine and Codroipo. Additional courses are scheduled to be added after Christmas.   • Arcivescovo di Udine to nominate Claudio Dagli Orti as new parish administrator of Prepotto

    The Archbishop of Udine will appoint Capuchin friar Claudio Dagli Orti as the new parish administrator for Prepotto. This decision follows an agreement with the superiors of the Santa Croce Venetian province. The Prepotto parish includes the villages of Oborza, Ciubiz, Cialla, Fragielis, Craoretto, Cladrecis, Chiazzacco, Centa, Albana, Codromaz, and Prepotischis. Father Dagli Orti, a member of the Castelmonte Capuchin community, succeeds Father Andrea Cereser and Father Paolo Cocco, who both moved outside the Archdiocese of Udine. Father Dagli Orti was ordained a priest in 1991. His previous roles include serving as a vicar in Chioggia, a hospital chaplain in Mirano, and a missionary in Angola for five years. Since 2001, he has worked in infirmaries for the Capuchins in Basano del Grappa, Conegliano, and Rovereto. He most recently served as the superior of the Capuchin community in Conegliano before moving to Castelmonte in September 2026.
