History
Erected as a Vicariate Apostolic on May 7, 1932 and raised to a diocese on November 24, 1960, the Diocese of Thanh Hóa (Latin: Dioecesis de Thanh Hoa) belongs to the Catholic Church in Vietnam and is suffragan to the Archdiocese of Hà Nôi. Its territory of 11,168 km2 holds some three million residents, of whom about 3% are Roman Catholics. Saint Anne Cathedral in Thanh Hoa city serves as the cathedral of the see. Joseph Nguyễn Đức Cường has been bishop since 2018.
