The Latin rite Diocese of Thanh Hoa in north-central Vietnam was erected as an Apostolic Vicariate on 5 May 1932 and elevated to a diocese on 24 November 1960. A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Hanoi, its cathedral is Saint Anne Cathedral in Thanh Hoa city.

History

Erected as a Vicariate Apostolic on May 7, 1932 and raised to a diocese on November 24, 1960, the Diocese of Thanh Hóa (Latin: Dioecesis de Thanh Hoa) belongs to the Catholic Church in Vietnam and is suffragan to the Archdiocese of Hà Nôi. Its territory of 11,168 km2 holds some three million residents, of whom about 3% are Roman Catholics. Saint Anne Cathedral in Thanh Hoa city serves as the cathedral of the see. Joseph Nguyễn Đức Cường has been bishop since 2018.
