Latin rite archdiocese in Campania, Italy, raised to metropolitan rank in 987 by Pope John XV and given its current name in 1986 when the diocese of Cava e Sarno was merged in. It is now a non-metropolitan archdiocese suffragan to Salerno-Campagna-Acerno, with the relics of Saint Andrew housed in Amalfi Cathedral.
