Tabuk is canonically an Apostolic Vicariate (a missionary jurisdiction), not a diocese, established in 1992 from the Apostolic Vicariate of Mountain Provinces and covering Kalinga and Apayao. It is immediately subject to the Holy See. Bishop Sean Buslig Mejia was appointed apostolic vicar in March 2026 and installed in June 2026.
