    Pope Leo XIV appointed Mario León Dorado as coadjutor archbishop of the Archdiocese of Rabat in Morocco on September 12.

    Dorado, a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, previously served as the apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Rabat. He was born in Madrid on March 16, 1974, and studied computer science before earning a theology degree from the San Dámaso Faculty of Theology in Madrid. After his religious vows in 1996, he was ordained a priest on June 2, 2001.

    His previous assignments include serving as a parochial vicar in Jaén, Spain, from 2000 to 2004. He later worked in the Apostolic Prefecture of Laayoune-Sahara, where he served as an apostolic administrator from 2009 to 2013 and as prefect starting in 2013.
