The bishop addressed the fears and uncertainties currently facing many in the Hispanic community, offering the reminder that God remains close to those who trust him. He encouraged parents and grandparents to pass their faith to younger generations and urged young people to embrace their Catholic identity and their specific missions within the Church and the world.

The bishop stated that the Church calls for the protection of human dignity and the sanctity of the family. He said the Church advocates for migrant families by supporting peace in their home countries, providing humanitarian protections for asylum seekers, and working to end human trafficking.

The statement referenced the theme chosen by Pope Leo XIV for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, which is Even just one of these children. Bishop Burbidge noted that Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington supports these efforts through resettlement services, emergency assistance, and other ministries to help migrants and refugees build stable lives.
