Pope Leo XIV presides over Mass at Lourdes

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV presided over a Mass at the Sanctuary of Lourdes on September 27.

Jean Lanusse, a seminarian from the Diocese of Bordeaux, served as one of four altar servers chosen from the Toulouse seminary to assist the Pope. Lanusse noted that the seminary selected representatives from the ecclesiastical provinces of Toulouse, Montpellier, the Antilles, and Bordeaux to serve during the liturgy.

Lanusse described the Pope as having a peaceful and grave demeanor, noting his interiority throughout the Mass. According to Lanusse, the Pope's message during the visit focused on Christian hope and the importance of contemplative life.
