The Diocese of Ávila celebrated the 100th anniversary of World Mission Sunday on Sunday, 18 October. To mark the centenary of the event, which was established in 1926, the Diocesan Mission Delegation set up four collection tables at various locations throughout the capital to encourage community participation.

The diocese currently supports 51 missionaries serving in 27 countries, with an average age of 79 among them. According to the Diocese of Ávila, the most recent collection for missions reached 200,188.04 euros. This year's celebration followed the theme "One in Christ, united in mission."
