Diocese of Karwar holds Bible Convention 2026

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

The Diocese of Karwar held a two-day Bible Convention for the Haliyal and Sirsi deaneries on October 16 and 17, 2026. Held at the Holy Rosary Church Ground in Yellapur, the event served as spiritual preparation for the diocese's Golden Jubilee in 2027.

Bishop Duming Dias presided over the Holy Eucharist on the first day, while Vicar General Richard Rodrigues led the celebration on the second day. Approximately 20 priests from the Haliyal and Sirsi deaneries attended the convention alongside the faithful.

The program included praise and worship, Eucharistic adoration, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Brother Prakash D’Souza and his team from Mumbai led the prayer sessions and spiritual animation, while Father Cyril Lobo from Udupi served as the preacher. The convention was organized under the leadership of Father Rona.
