Diocese of Terni-Narni-Amelia holds prayer vigil for new bishop

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

The Diocese of Terni-Narni-Amelia held a missionary prayer vigil on Thursday, October 22, at the Terni Cathedral to pray for the new bishop, Alfonso. The event coincided with the 100th World Mission Sunday.

During the vigil, the community prayed for the diocese's future mission and for Bishop Alfonso to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit, including health, strength, and the joy of the Gospel. Participants also prayed for better communion in mission work, improved listening and hospitality, and an end to indifference toward global injustices.

The service included testimonies from various parts of the world regarding stories of fraternity and hope. Father Chisito Badolo from Burkina Faso provided a testimony, and the community marked the anniversary of Bishop Gualdrini's episcopal ordination. The vigil also honored the missionary spirit that led to the 1988 founding of the diocesan mission in Ntambue, Congo.
