Pray with Pope Leo XIV, October 2026

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Mary Permoda, director of the Office of Mental Health Ministry for the Diocese of Phoenix, will share a video reflection this month regarding Pope Leo XIV’s prayer intention for mental health ministry. The Pope requested prayers for the establishment of mental health ministries throughout the Church to help overcome the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental illnesses.

The Diocese of Phoenix collaborated on this month's Pope Video, an intention supported by Bishop John Dolan. Following the loss of several family members to suicide, Bishop Dolan established the diocesan Office of Mental Health Ministry to support those struggling with mental health challenges. The Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network promotes these monthly intentions through The Pope Video.
