North Vicariate gathers 1,200 extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion in Campos

About 1,200 extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion gathered for the annual meeting of the North Vicariate of the Diocese of Campos on Saturday, October 24.

The meeting took place at Santa Teresinha Parish in the Pecuária neighborhood of Campos dos Goytacazes. The program included adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, a lecture by Father Renan Valentin, and spiritual reflections led by Father Fabrício dos Reis. Bishop Roberto Francisco Ferrería Paz presided over the concluding Mass.

Father Fabrício described the event as continuing formation for the ministers. He noted that ministers serve the community by bringing the Eucharist to the sick who cannot travel to church. Bishop Roberto stated that the role is a ministry of service and mission rather than a mere task of distribution.
