The Ethiopian Catholic Eparchy of Adigrat is an Eastern Catholic eparchy of the Ge'ez (Alexandrian) rite, not Latin rite, covering the Tigray region of Ethiopia. Established as a prefecture apostolic in 1937 and raised to an eparchy in 1961, it is suffragan to the Archeparchy of Addis Abeba.

    A drone strike hit a Catholic Relief Services humanitarian convoy in the Tigray region of Ethiopia, injuring a driver and a young girl, according to a report from Addis Standard. The convoy was transporting 41 metric tons of food intended for internally displaced people. The aid operation was part of the Joint Emergency Operation Program and was contracted through the Adigrat Diocesan Catholic Secretariat. The Catholic Eparchy of Adigrat condemned the strike and requested that international humanitarian law be used to protect aid routes, supplies, and workers. The U.S. State Department’s Bureau of African Affairs issued a statement on September 22 condemning the strike and requesting a full investigation into the incident.
