History
An Eastern Catholic diocese of the Ethiopian Catholic Church, a metropolitan Eastern Catholic Church, the Ethiopian Catholic Eparchy of Emdeber (Latin: Emdeberen(sis)) is suffragan to the Ethiopian Catholic Archeparchy of Addis Ababa. It takes its name from the town of Emdibir, where its cathedral, St. Anthony Cathedral, Endibir, is located. The name of both eparchy and town appears in several transliterations: Eparchy of Emdibir, Endibir, Endeber and Indibir.
