The Archdiocese of Atlanta is a Latin Church metropolitan archdiocese covering 69 counties of north and central Georgia, founded as a diocese in 1956 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1962. It is the metropolitan see of the Province of Atlanta and is led by Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer.

History
Northern Georgia, in the United States, falls within the Archdiocese of Atlanta (Latin: Archdiœcesis Atlantensis). Its prelate archbishop, presently Gregory Hartmayer, also serves as pastor of the mother church, the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta.
