History

Created in 1053, the Diocese of Aversa (Latin: Dioecesis Aversana) is a Latin see of the Catholic Church in Campania, southern Italy. It lies in the Terra di Lavoro (Liburia), seven miles north of Naples and eight miles south of Capua, and is suffragan to the Archdiocese of Naples.

    The Diocese of Aversa held its first planning meeting for the 2026/2027 pastoral year on September 19, 2026.
