History

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Curitiba (Latin: Archidioecesis Curitibensis) is a Latin Rite metropolitan see in Paraná, southern Brazil. Its archiepiscopal cathedral, a Minor Basilica in Curitiba, is the Catedral Metropolitana Basílica Nossa Senhora da Luz dos Pinhais, dedicated to Our Lady of the Candles. A separate Diocese of Curitiba, with its own Bishop of Curitiba, also exists in the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil.
