A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Québec, the Diocese of Trois-Rivières (Latin: Dioecesis Trifluvianensis in Canada) dates its erection to 8 June 1852.

    Bishops from the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Canada are meeting in Montreal from September 21 to 25, 2026, for their annual Plenary Assembly. The gathering includes daily celebrations of the Eucharist, including one following the Armenian rite led by Bishop Mikaël Mouradian. During the assembly, Bishop Pierre Goudreault, Bishop Bryan Joseph Bayda, and Bishop Juan Carlos Londoño will lead a discussion regarding pastoral initiatives for the 500th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Additionally, Eoin Connolly and Patricia Murphy from the Canadian Catholic Institute of Bioethics will present updates on the institute's activities.

  • Diocese of Trois-Rivières participates in Grande Assemblée Missionnaire

    A nine-member delegation from the Diocese of Trois-Rivières participated in the Grande Assemblée Missionnaire (GAM) at Mont-Sainte-Anne. The event served as a synodal exercise for the Church in Quebec. Simon Bournival, the diocesan pastoral coordinator, helped prepare for the assembly and served as a co-animator. Annie Beauchemin, a pastoral agent, served on the analysis committee. The delegation included Jonathan Lacasse, Benoit Genest, Marc Lahaie, Martine Livernoche, Claude Lapointe, Simon Bournival, and Annie Beauchemin. Pierre Edayé and Thérèse Richard were not present for the group photograph.
